Chitrakoot is a town located in the Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. It is a sacred place for Hindus as it is believed that Lord Rama spent a significant part of his exile here. Known as the hill of many wonders, this city Chitrakoot which is one of the oldest pilgrimage centers in the country Madhya Pradesh. It is considered a holy place. Because it is associated with the epic Ramayana. It is also believed that according to legend, Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshmana lived in the region for about 11 years of their 14 years of exile and spent their time in the jungles of Chitrakoot. It is situated on the banks of the Mandakini or Pishwani river. It is believed that incarnations of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh are born here.

The forests of Chitrakoot are believed to have been home to many holy saints. Most of the places here are associated with Lord Rama and Sita in some form. Chitrakoot has many religious, scenic and tourist places. The holy land of Chitrakoot is full of many scenic spots. Chitrakoot is a popular pilgrimage site in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. Festivals like Ramnavami and Diwali are celebrated in this place with great pomp and show.

Chitrakoot is of great religious importance as it is one of the most important pilgrimages and has a higher status than Allahabad. Many festivals like Shravan Jhula Mela, Amavasya Mela, Ramnavami, Diwali, Vijayadashami and Navratri are celebrated in the town. The best time to visit Chitrakoot is during the months of July to March. Chitrakoot is a religious place, so pure vegetarian food is seen and tasted here.
