Gautam Buddha Nagar is a district located in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The district was carved out of the erstwhile Ghaziabad district in 1997. The district headquarters is located in the city of Noida, which is a part of the National Capital Region (NCR) of India. The district is named after Gautam Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, who is said to have attained enlightenment in nearby Bodh Gaya.

Geography
