The city of historical wonders, Sasaram or Sahasram is considered one of the most famous and popular places for tourists. It is famous for its historical significance. It is a small town in Rohtas district of Bihar, India. Aurangabad is located at a distance of 42 km from Sasaram city. An important role was played in the independence of India. Mohaniya which is located in Kaimur district of Bihar, 27 kilometers from Sasaram city. Rohtas is located in the west direction and at a distance of 5 kilometers Rohtas stronghold. It is believed that Rohtas Garh is named after Rohitashv, the son of King Harish Chandra. Bawan Talab is famous for the presence of ancient temples in its north direction, 1 kilometer from Rohtas Fort.

Sasaram, an ancient city with old monuments, connects you to its past with soulful devotion and fascinating stories of heroic rulers. Fresh and natural environment only enhances its charm. It is believed that since the time of Ramayana, the city is jointly named after King Sahasarjuna and sage Parashurama. However, during the reign of Afghan ruler Sher Shah Suri, the city gained fame and continued its work under the Mughal Empire. Sher Shah Suri s Tomb is one of the iconic historical structures in the city, which is known for Indo-Islamic architectural style.

Built in the 16th century, it is situated in the middle of a small lake. Hasan Khan Suri s tomb is another architectural marvel of the city. It is a place of religious importance for Hindus as well as Muslims.

The Gupteshwar Temple is a popular temple of Lord Shiva located within a limestone cave. Chaurasan Temple and Ma Tara Chandi Temple are other important religious sites. Chandan Shaheed s Tomb, an ancient mosque built during the Mughal period is known for its aesthetic appeal. Nature lovers can enjoy the beautiful waterfalls of Manjar Kund and Dhula Kund. The Indrapuri Dam and the Tutarahi Falls are also known for their natural beauty.
