Munger city is associated with natural beauty on the banks ofriverGanges. The presence of divine ghats in the proximity of the city adds to the enchanting scene. It is located 180 km east of the capital of Patna and 60 km west of Bhagalpur, the oldest and fourth largest city of Munger. Munger is known for the ancient "seat of governance" and is home to the famous "Bihar School of Yoga", an education center famous in the field of yoga. The fort of Munger on the outskirts of the city is built on rocky hills. It is situated on thesouthern bankof the Ganges.

BhimbandhWildlifeSanctuary is spread over 682 square kilometers in the Kharagpur hill range southwest of Munger district with dense forests and beautiful water springs. It is famous for hot water streams and attractive places. Kastaharni Ghat literally means a place of bath which removes all the pain and assures the travelers a beautiful view of sunrise and sunset. The Sita Kund Hot Springs is a spiritually important place just four miles east of the city of Munger.
