Brahampur or Berhampur as it is called is the largest city and gateway in southern Odisha. Brahmapur is a city located on the eastern coast of the eastern Indian state of Odisha, it is the third largest city in Odisha with a population of 350000. It is a trade center, Brahmapur is also known as Silk City Tax due to the famous silk belt sarees, the weaver community of the city migrated from Rajahmundry during the period 1662 - 1672 at the request of the then King Narayana Dev of Mahuri. The city is known for its love for theater and cinema. Truly Ganjam Kala Parishad and Prakasam Hall is one of the oldest theater halls in the country. Sri Sitaram Vials Talkies is the oldest cinema hall of Odisha which was established in 1927. It is known everywhere in the world for its immense human resources in important and basic leadership positions.
