Brahampur or Berhampur as it is called is the largest city and gateway in southern Odisha. Brahmapur is a city located on the eastern coast of the eastern Indian state of Odisha, it is the third largest city in Odisha with a population of 350000. It is a trade center, Brahmapur is also known as Silk City Tax due to the famous silk belt sarees, the weaver community of the city migrated from Rajahmundry during the period 1662 - 1672 at the request of the then King Narayana Dev of Mahuri.
