Taragarh Fort is one of the most impressive structures of Bundi. Popularly known as "Star Fort", the attraction is situated on a gulf hill and offers panoramic and enchanting views of the city of Bundi situated in Nagpahari of the Aravalli ranges. The fort was described by the famous writer Rudyard Kipling as "more of a goblin work than a man". It is a pity that this magnificent structure took time, and most of the majestic and attractive architecture of the fort is now in ruins.
The entrance of the fort is marked by three entrances. After this, there have been many wars with tunnels and ramparts. Such as the famous Grand Canyon or "Garba Gunjan". The queen palace which was specially built for the wives and concubines of the rulers of those times. It is also a great and famous attraction for tourists. This place is at its peak when the sun sets. And the whole city is immersed in the sunlight.
A visit to Taragarh Fort is an entertaining experience that provides essential details about our famous history and culture. There are huge rocks in the fort which are derived from hard rock. And it has the Bhima Burj, leading the walls, on which a famous cannon is built. The city has an excellent bird attraction with this historic fort.
Water reservoirs have been fixed from the rocky base of the fort. The fort has Rani Mahal which is a small palace within the complex, Taragarh Fort also has a Miran Saheb Dargah. The entrance to the fort is built by wild elephants. In the huge reservoirs, the largest carving of rock and Bhima Burj is done, on which cannon is mounted.
