Despite renaming it as Chhatrapati Shivaji Vastu Museum, the museum is still called the Prince of Wales Museum. The museum was established in 1922 to commemorate the princes visit to India. The museum has a nice collection of some ancient relics from the Indus Valley Civilization, some magnificent sculptures of Middle Ages and ceramic sculptures, artwork and miniature paintings, and ancient weapons of the Indian War. The domed structure located in the museum depicts a beautiful blend of Hindu, Islamic, and British architecture. This structure was designed by George Watt.
