Bongaigaon is a district located in the western part of Assam. It is known for its oil and gas reserves and has several oil refineries and petrochemical plants. Some famous places are Bageshwari Temple, Rock Cut Cave and many other places. It is also the entry point to Manas National Park and is also known for its petro-chemical industry. Bongaigaon has some beautiful places to visit. There are also religious tourist spots like Bishnupur Sankradev Satra, Bongaigaon Eco-Development Park, Tamranga Lake and Birjhora Tea Gardens and Lalmati Durgamati Ganesh Temple and Bageshwari Temple. Being a very old city, the temples and other monument structures here are worth seeing and carrying mythological and untold stories.
