Barpeta is a district located in the western part of Assam. It is known for its cultural heritage and is home to several important historical monuments and religious sites. The district has a total population of over 17 lakh people, and the official language spoken here is Assamese.One of the major attractions in Barpeta is the Barpeta Satra. It is an ancient monastery founded in the 16th century and is one of the most important centers of Vaishnavite culture in Assam.Another famous attraction in Barpeta is the Manas National Park. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is home to several endangered species, including the Bengal tiger, Indian rhinoceros, and Asian elephant.

Known as the land of Satra, an important place for tourism in Assam is located about 90 km from Guwahati. It is one such travel destination of North East India, where a large number of temples are seen. The name of Barpeta is larger than "Bar" and Peta means pond. Popularly called Satra Nagri or the temple city of Assam. It should be counted among the prominent places of the city of Satra. This Satra is about 500 years old. And still as much importance as was used in earlier days. The Kirtan Griha of this Satra is the largest hall in Assam where devotees congregate. Other Largest Scenic Places Manas National Park. The park is a large land heritage site.

It is home to many animals such as leopard, tiger, elephant, Bengal Florican Himalayan black bear and many other animals. The place is also a beautiful landscape. At a distance of 20 kms from it is a city called Bagbar. Bagbird Hills is another cottage house built by Maddev. The hill offers a wonderful view of the Brahmaputra river, a visit to the shrine of Syed Shanur Diwan, this place is very quiet and serene. And is special for followers of Islam. Tourists should also visit the Haridwar temple on the other side. Which is an old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. So take a safari trip to Manas National Park.
