Known as the land of Satra, an important place for tourism in Assam is located about 90 km from Guwahati. It is one such travel destination of North East India, where a large number of temples are seen. The name of Barpeta is larger than "Bar" and Peta means pond. Popularly called Satra Nagri or the temple city of Assam. It should be counted among the prominent places of the city of Satra. This Satra is about 500 years old. Tourists should also visit the Haridwar temple on the other side. Which is an old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. So take a safari trip to Manas National Park.
