Landour is a small town located in the Mussoorie hill station of Uttarakhand. The town is named after a Welsh town called Llanddowror, which was the birthplace of the founder of Landour, Captain Frederick Young. Landour served as a key military base during the British Raj and played an important role in the Anglo-Nepalese War of 1814-16.

During the 19th century, Landour emerged as a popular hill station among the British. They built many bungalows, churches, and schools in the town, which gave it a distinct colonial character. The town also became a hub of education and culture, with many prestigious schools and colleges being established here. Some of the famous schools in Landour include Woodstock School, Wynberg-Allen School, and St. George's College.
