Devprayag is at an altitude of 830 meters above sea level. The distance from Rishikesh to Devprayag is only around 70 km. This beautiful place is situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda-Bhagirathi River. Devbhoomi is said to be one of the Panch Prayagas of Uttarakhand. It is believed that when King Bhagiratha persuaded Ganga to come down to earth, along with him 33 crore Gods and Goddesses also descended from Ganga to Devprayag from heaven. This is the place where the confluence of the Bhagirathi and the Alaknanda River takes place. Devprayag attracts a large number of devotees. It is a very picturesque place, where the beauty and serene atmosphere is felt in the heart of the devotees and tourists.
