In terms of tourism, the features of South India are seen to be appreciated by a few different colours. Especially the natural beauty there is a fascination for everyone. If you want to visit a similar beautiful hill station, you can approach the Nilgiri hills, popularly known as red hills, touching the samas of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.

Red Hills located at a distance of 28 kilometres from Ooty. The Red Hills has many beautiful lakes, such as Emerald, Avalsh, Upper Bhawani, Parsons Valley Lake and Portimund. Located at a distance of 310 kms from Bengaluru, the hill station is also known as Nilgiri.

The Red Hills Nature Resort is a resort that is located at a peak of 7000 feet high to stay in the Red Hills. The tea gardens spread over about two and a half acres on the Amarald Lake and its rear mountains give it a distinct beauty. If you like tea, you can also buy tea from ooty plantations from this resort.

How to reach

The nearest airport is Coimbatore (116 km). You can reach here with a three-hour road journey from the airport. By taxi, it may take about Rs. 1,800 to red Hills, about Rs. 450 in taxi from Ooty. The nearest railway station is also Coimbatore. The road can reach Ooty by noon from Bengaluru in the morning. You can easily reach the Red Hills by taxi from Ooty.

Mukhurti National Park

The National Park is located at a distance of 18 kilometres from the Red Hills near the Portimund Lake. You have to take permission from the forest department to go here. Sambhar, deer, lions and other wild animals can be seen here. The national park had earlier become a number of trekking tales and rate houses. The hydraulic power station built in 1950 can also be seen in the Emerald or Avalsh.

Valley Lake

Located at a distance of 8 kilometres from parsons Valley Lake Red Hills, the lake provides water to Ooty and adjoining villages. You will never forget the joy of walking alone in the lap of the far-flung litigants on these paths.

Avalsh

The Avalsh is a village 13 kms away from The Emerald, where one of the oldest tribes of Nilgiri is the Toda tribe. There is also a hatchery of about 100 years old trout fish in the Avalite.
