Mohali, also known as Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, is a city in the northern Indian state of Punjab. It is a rapidly developing urban area located near the city of Chandigarh, which is the capital of both Punjab and Haryana states. Mohali was named after Sahibzada Ajit Singh, the eldest son of Guru Gobind Singh, who was killed in the Battle of Chamkaur in 1704. Mohali has a rich history that dates back to the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. The region was later ruled by the Mauryan and Gupta dynasties before the arrival of the Mughals.
