Mohali, also known as Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, is a city in the northern Indian state of Punjab. Mohali was named after Sahibzada Ajit Singh, the eldest son of Guru Gobind Singh, who was killed in the Battle of Chamkaur in 1704. History

Geography

Mohali is located in the foothills of the Shivalik range of the Himalayas. The city is situated at an altitude of 310 meters above sea level and covers an area of 109 sq km. The Sutlej river flows to the north of Mohali, and the city is surrounded by the districts of Rupnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Chandigarh.

The majority of the population is Punjabi-speaking, with a significant number of people also speaking Hindi and English. Mohali has a literacy rate of over 85%, with a large number of people working in the information technology and service sectors.

Mohali is a major industrial hub and is home to several multinational companies, including Quark, Infosys, and Convergys. The city has a thriving information technology industry, which has helped to create a large number of jobs and attract investment to the area.
