Golden Temple

It is one of the most important gurdwaras in the country. It is also known as Darbar Sahib and was built in the 16th century by the fourth Sikh Guru, Guru Ramdas Sahib. It was built in the 16th century by the 5th Sikh Guru, Guru Arjun Dev Ji. In the early 19th century, Maharaja Ranjit Singh covered the upper roof of this gurudwara with 400 kg of gold work, giving it its name as the Golden Temple. It was in 1604 when Guru Arun completed the Adi Granth and installed it in the Gurdwara complex. This two gulla gurudwara made of marble is surrounded by a sacred pond named Amrit Sarosar. The holy scripture Adi Granth of Sikhism is kept in its sacred place during the day. The temple has four entrances, Those who convey the message of human brotherhood and equality.
