Kushalnagar Tourism

On the vast land of Karnataka in the east of the district, Kushawal Nagar, which is famous for the Buddhist pilgrimage city, is said to have built many ancient sups and viharas of the 3rd and 5th centuries in this city. The city , designed by the Mauryan Emperor Ashoka , is considered to be an important tourist destination in Uttar Pradesh. The Chiklihole Reservoir and the Herur, the Dubre elephant camp, are a shining proof of Kushinagar"s natural green environment, according to the texts of Buddhism, Gautam Buddha had received Parinirvana near the Hiravati River after his death. The name Kushalnagar means "city of gladnesses", it is believed to be named Haider Ali.
