Mythological Beliefs

The name of Vijayawada is due to the practice of two mythological parables. At one point of time, the flow of the river in this area was blocked by harsh mountains. Lack of water did not have proper conditions to live here, nor the proper environment for agriculture. For this, the subjects made a persuasion to Lord Shiva, who made the way to the river by making a tunnel between the hard mountains. So, the name of this place was Bezmwara. The same name was changed to Vijayawada in the period of time.
