South Tripura is one of the eight districts of Tripura, a state in northeastern India. The district covers an area of 2152 square kilometers and is located in the southern part of the state. It is bordered by West Tripura district to the north, Bangladesh to the south and west, and Sepahijala district to the east.

Agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for the people of South Tripura district. The district is known for its production of rice, sugarcane, jute, and mustard. The district also has a significant horticulture industry, with the production of fruits such as pineapple, orange, and lemon. The district is home to the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) Industrial Estate, which houses several small and medium-sized enterprises.
South Tripura district has several tourist attractions that draw visitors from across the country. The Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the eastern part of the district, is a popular destination for wildlife enthusiasts.
