This state is a municipal corporation located in Andhra Pradesh. And it is located at a distance of 100 km from the state capital Hyderabad. It is believed that the original name of this city was Siddhapuram. Which was later changed to Gulshanabad. And now Medak. Local people of this country consider different festivals of Telangana. Especially the festival of Bathukamma which is a nine-day long worship of Mahagauri, the patron goddess of femininity. The goddess is worshiped as Bathukamma. Other notable festivals celebrated include Bonalu and Pirla Panduga, which are celebrated by Hindu Muslims. Medak has many historical temples dedicated to Goddess Saraswati near Anantasagar attracting tourists like Shri Saraswati Kshatramu.
Adupayala Durga Bhavani Gudi is a temple dedicated to Goddess Durga Bhavani in Telangana, close to the states of Karnataka and Maharashtra. Medak derives its name from the Telugu word methuku which means ripe rice grains. Bathukamma is celebrated in the Telangana region in the festival, which is celebrated only by women. For this, it is celebrated during Navratri. In which Goddess Gauri is worshiped. Dev Gauri is worshiped as Bathkumma in Telangana. It was also built by the Kakatiya Rata Pratap Rudra to build a fort around the city to save Medak. This bastion was built on top of a hill. And then it was named Methukurudurugam. It is called as Methukusima by the locals.
